Two years ago, I started  playing around with designing software. . I needed something that brought a smile to my face, and that made me and my friends happy. A hobby, and a break from the normal problems that every teen faces. Thats when my mother came to be with the idea of selling online printables. I thought that was a good idea, and for weeks I  brainstormed for a name. This was by far the most challenging part for me. Having a name that fits my niche, and that is unique was quite hard to find. And also I wanted a .com domain, so that narrowed down my options as well. But after a long battle I   came up with "Neetli" . The domaim was available, the name was befitting, and it was uique! I knew I had to use it. So I designed the logo and launched!

Hooray!!

I started small at first, with a monthly subscription package where people would pay R50 and recieve monthly downloadable planners via emial. I had to set up payment methods, I had to obviously buy my domain, and I had to make a landing page for people to be able to sign up for the subcription.

 But....

there was not enough traffic, and I didnt have the money to put up a website. For a year I did it on the sidelines and I tried to market it, but what do you market? A uninformative landing page? Thats when I made up my mind. I would save my money, till I had enough to pay for the software to build a website. So, for about a year, I only saved, and saved, and saved. Then at the beggining of June 2023 I finally had enough to pay for the software and build a website.

Phewww.....

But thats only the start. Not only was building the website challenging, the designing and actual creative work, but I also had to learn a lot about SEO, and how having a website works. I  remember how I  carried over the domain from the place where I had bought it, to the software that I was using. I remember spending long hours loading my products, and connecting my site to google. 

It was tiring....but oh so worth it!!

I started Neelti to help people become more organised, to help them start planning, and to bring a smile to peoples faces. I love organisation, and I would love to make it "aesthetic" and accessible to everyone. I sell a monthly subscription package, where I send out an email on the 30th of every month, with a monthly calendar, Bible verse or insirational quote, and a notepad. Over the last few years, my style and niche have changed a lot, and I have learned that in planning, simlicity is the BEST thing to focus on. Be realistic in your goals and get straight to your tasks!
